Sr. Metrology Tech

Provide expertise to lead and provide oversite to all aspects of Safran Landing Systems (SLS) Metrology / Instrumentation Calibrations of Wheels & Brakes manufacturing plant and Carbon Brake manufacturing plant in Walton Kentucky.
Ensure all Metrology processes are in compliance with both corporate and local Metrology procedures.
Provide expertise in the choice, use and maintenance of all measurement and control devices/equipment.
Ensure calibration of measurement and process devices/equipment and manage measurement uncertainty.
Support Maintenance Department and Engineering with troubleshooting instrumentation, when needed.
Lead and coach Metrology Technicians and Maintenance personnel.
Perform the Roles and Responsibilities of a Metrology Equipment Technician III when needed.
Lead creation and validation of calibration instruction procedures
Audit vendors to ensure appropriate documentation and methodology is being used and work to correct issues.
Ensure all Metrology processes are in compliance with both corporate and local Metrology procedures
Perform duties as the SLS Site Process Focal for metrology per the FAC04 standards
Interface with Quality and Engineering teams to define direction on abnormal or critical situations
Manage the Calibration Software system and update when necessary
Create Critical Chain Instruments Assets in CMMS, validating system is updated for all approved equipment changes
Create new Drawings
Participate in budgetary preparation, tracking and analysis
Assist in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvement.
Manage area to 5S
Perform continuous improvement activities - Safran QRQC methodology.
Perform other related duties, as required.

Candidate skills & requirements
Satisfies the Roles and Responsibilities of Metrology Equipment Technician III
Strong experience with measurement and process instrument specification, technoloby, installation, programming and troubleshooting.
3rd Party certification in area of Calibration and/or Metrology.
Batchlors Degree or Associate Degree Recommended.
